Advantage Changes to Advantage+ – Jon...

Everything gets a plus now!

Meta tried to slip a few subtle branding changes by you, but I won’t let them. You may not have noticed the name updates to a few features…

Advantage+ Campaign Budget

Remember Advantage Campaign Budget?

Advantage Campaign Budget

You know, the feature that was originally Campaign Budget Optimization?

Campaign Budget Optimization

Well, its name has changed again. Now it’s Advantage+ Campaign Budget.

At first I thought I was losing my mind and it’s been that way all along, but I confirmed that it changed.

But this wasn’t the only feature to get the upgrade.

Advantage+ Targeting Features

All of the Advantage audience expansion features changed, too.

Advantage Detailed Targeting…

Advantage Detailed Targeting

…is now Advantage+ Detailed Targeting.

Advantage Lookalike…

Advantage Lookalike

…is Advantage+ Lookalike.

And Advantage Custom Audience…

Advantage Custom Audience

…is Advantage+ Custom Audience.

The name changes are reflected in Meta’s official documentation.

But Why??

Awesome! So, what new functionality comes with the +?

Nothing. The features don’t change.

This appears to be so that branding falls in line with new Advantage+ Campaigns. And it’s not a bad thing really. The fact that some features were Advantage and others were Advantage+ was confusing.

At one point I did dedicate myself to understanding the difference between “Advantage” and “Advantage+”, but I couldn’t tell you what that difference was now. This eliminates that point of confusion.

But the whole thing also feels a bit ridiculous. I can’t wait for the Advantage++ upgrade.
