Looking for a quick prep Veteran’s Day activity for preschool or kindergarten? These free handwriting sheets give kids practice writing and sounding out the letters V and P.
Getting Ready
The prep for this Veteran’s Day activity was as quick and simple as it comes!
I printed one activity sheet (below) for each child and grabbed our crayons, pencils and highlighters. That’s it! We were ready to jump in.
Veteran’s Day Activity Sheets
There were two versions of the alphabet sheets – one for “V is for Veteran” and another for “P is for Poppy” (A flower worn in honor of veterans who died in battle.)
We grabbed the “V is for Veteran” sheet first. Middle Brother (age 5) started working his way through the page. He highlighted the upper and lowercase letters, colored the veterans and traced the Vs in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.
After writing the V’s in boxes and tracing the line of letters at the bottom of the page, he moved on to the second page.
The pages were a fun way to connect alphabet letters to such an important national holiday.
